Singing, pantomime and creative movement activities are presented to encourage personality development. Strengthening and flexibility skills will be incorporated in the acrobatic portion of this class. Dancers will be taught beginning acrobatic skills to help develop their coordination and balance.

Ballet/Tap:
This one hour class is designed for 5 and 6 year olds and is our next progressive level after our Creative Dance class. It is an introductory class for the one hour ballet and tap classes. Dancers will learn beginning ballet steps and terminology. They will start incorporating individual dance steps into combinations and work on coordination skills using both arms and legs. Beginning tap steps will be taught while at the same time teaching to count and hear different rhythms. Singing and pantomime activities are still incorporated in this class to encourage dancers to express and develop their feelings and emotions through their own creative movement.

Ballet:
A one hour class designed for the beginner through advanced dancer. This is the most serious and demanding of the dance forms. Ballet students will learn proper body alignment, traditional ballet technique and the grace of motion while at the same time building muscle tone and strength.

Jazz:
A one hour class consisting of strong, sharp, placed movements executed to today’s music. Jazz develops agility and coordination while instilling a sense of rhythm and interpretation of music. Theater style choreography and hip hop style moves makes this class a favorite.

Contemporary jazz:
Applies various genre dance styles and techniques including jazz, lyrical, and modern, . There is emphasis placed on discovering the natural movement within the dancer. A delicate mix of Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Dance Theater and Funk, there is a world of discovery and joy in the art of Contemporary Jazz Dance. The words “Contemporary dance” do not describe a style or a particular kind of dance, but a particular state of mind. We can consider this state as being aware of the human being and of the worldaroundus. The contemporary dancer is going to be facing main questions and will express himself by movements and emotions. The style of the work will totally be depending on the choices and approach of the choreographer and the dancers.

Hip Hop:
This one hour class is a high energy genre of dance, concentrating upon style, funk and self-expression. Hip Hop combines all elements of dance and music while giving the student freedom to “let loose”. This class offers a release to stress, as well as, a release of self-satisfaction. Anyone can start, an experienced dancer or not.

Belly Dance:
Belly dance is an increasingly popular form of fitness, recreation and personal expression for many women. In this class you'll learn the graceful, mesmerizing movements of cabaret-style Middle Eastern belly dance. This fun class will help you tone and strengthen, release stress and tension in the body, and celebrate your feminine power. No experience necessary.

YOGA
The word Yoga is derived from Sanskrit means union of our mind, body & spirit with the universe. Yoga is one of the six orthodox systems of Indian philosophy to deliver the practitioner from pain and sorrow into health and happiness.  Yoga has also been described as wisdom in work or skill full living amongst activities in harmony.
Yoga has evolved to meet the needs of the culture it serves and to fit all ages. Yoga uses specific poses, and breathing exercises designed to purify, heal, and for fitness / wellness. For the practitioners the physical and breathing exercises empower one to go beyond the over stimulation (stress) of a busy day and enter into an inner peace. Our program offers an integrated approach of several modalities of Yoga to give the participant total results.

Acrobatics:

A specialized method of exercise and fitness system which gives the participant the skills of agility, balance, flexibility and strength.  Acrobatics develops and improves physical coordination, mental focus and concentration which give the performer self discipline and self esteem. This dynamic class is taught in a positive and safe learning environment.
It promotes creativity, self expression and as a result great self confidence. Our students are educated and prepared to participate in our fun filled high energy class which challenges them to be the best they can individually be.
We participate in demonstrations and performances through out the year which spot lights them as the star and to celebrate our accomplishments in our end of the year show.

Annual Productions
School Activities:
Two Yearly shows, Graduations, Performances/Exhibitions and Competitions (please refer to the current calendar year-events)

All students have the opportunity to perform on stage in our annual dance production held in June and December of each year. Information packets are handed out in early January &  August and include costume prices, show dates, class pictures and other important details. Due to the many hectic deadlines we endure in the Spring with regards to costume arrivals, costume distribution, class & individual picture days, picture purchasing day, program book layout, proofing, editing and printing we collect costume money in January & in August. This will enable us to order our costumes before the thousands of dance studios across the country and help with our other deadlines.
